ABOUT

DREW S 148.JPG

Drew has been drawing and painting for most of his life and has been recognized by his community as a highly gifted visual artist.

He has been doing commissioned artwork for over ten years and has a knack for detail that gives his work a lifelike quality. While he often gravitates towards landscapes, animals and people as his subject matter, he has become particularly known for the realism in his portraits and for capturing the personalities of people in a unique way. Although he specializes in pencil and charcoal, Drew is adept at working in other mediums as well.

In his younger days, he received training from professional artist, Judy Preston, with whom he studied the technique of painting with oils, which opened a pathway into the world of color. Drew has won various awards since high school, donated work to charity, done numerous commissioned pieces for clients and hopes to continue expanding his work and clientele on both the East and West Coast.

THE PROCESS

I find it very useful to invite clients to play a part in my process in order to ensure the best quality product. While it can take anywhere from 1-3 months to complete a commissioned piece, clients are more than welcome to check in on the progress of the work. I am happy to give suggestions on what would look best but strongly encourage my clients to have a say in what they would like, particularly in the initial stages. This communication and evaluation can take place on the phone, through email or in person.

For portraits and other pieces that involve a reference photo, digital photos sent through email are best (but not required). Aesthetic adjustments for the picture are possible if needed and are at the clients request (i.e. background changes, combining two reference photos, adding or subtracting elements in the picture etc.).

I would also be available to give suggestions on what kind of frame would look best for the artwork. If the client is local, the finished piece can be presented in a frame at the client's request.

Thank you for your interest!

RATES & SHIPPING

RATES:

In general, a piece can take anywhere from 1-3 months to complete. Size, complexity, subject matter, hours spent, number of subjects and materials used are all contributing factors in pricing the work.

Once a quoted price has been given and agreed upon by both parties, a negotiated down payment is required in order to initiate work.

Please contact me in order to receive a quoted price.

SHIPPING:

If the artwork requires shipping, it is strongly suggested that the piece be sent unframed.

Shipping rates are an additional cost to the final price.
